こんばんわ！This evening I watched a Japanese travel vlog about Kamakura, a Japanese town known for its temples and shrines. Although it was difficult to understand without subtitles as I don't know many Japanese words, I was still able to pick out a few words like おいしい. It was cool seeing a real-world example of what traveling in Japan is like as I will be going there in early March. I am very excited to try all the different foods, as well as ride on the shinkansen and see shrines and temples. Thanks for reading my blog！さよなら!

 こんにちは！ This week we learned how to talk about what we like in Japanese. Here are a couple of things I like: わたしわにんてんどのげえむとそぽおつがすきです。 Some of my favorite Nintendo games are the different Mario Kart, Pokemon, and Zelda games. I am currently playing Mario Kart World and Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. I also like sports. I grew up watching baseball, but since coming to ND I have been addicted to college football. I still occasionally watch basketball or baseball, but football is definitely now my favorite sport. I've heard that baseball is popular in Japan. Ghibli Park

こんばんは！Today I watched a video about Ghibli Park in Aichi, Japan. Studio Ghibli is one of the most famous and recognizable animation studios in the world, so it makes sense they would have their own theme park! Ghibli Park has many attractions modeled after scenes from their movies. I particularly liked seeing the cat bus from My Neighbor Totoro as that was one of my favorite movies growing up. こんにちは.  Welcome to my blog! Since I was little, I've always been interested in Japanese history. culture, and food. I chose to take Japanese in order to learn more about the country, as well as to prepare for my upcoming trip to Tokyo and Kyoto. I think it would be fun to try to talk to people in Japanese, and would make the trip more fulfilling. I am excited to learn the language, and I look forward to improving my reading, writing, and speaking!
